As Good As You'll Find At This Price, June 30, 2012 By This review is from: Diamondback 2012 Podium 6 Road Bike (Carbon/Yellow) (Sports) I ordered this bike and it came extremely well-boxed. The box was sturdily-constructed and the padding did its work. Nothing was scratched or warped. Taking the bike out of the box, all the decals were perfectly placed and the bike came almost completely assembled. There were a few drips in the finish, but they were in hard-to-reach spots and are unnoticeable to the eye. The bars were taped, the cables routed, and the wheels mounted. All I had to do was bolt-on the handlebars, drop-in the seatpost, and put the wheels on.
However, I would STRONGLY suggest taking this to a good shop for the build. Why? Quite a few bolts were not properly tightened during the factory build. To make matters worse, the factory didn't seem to use any thread-lock. A good shop will use thread-lock on most of the bolts and a torque wrench on all the important ones. This is especially important with all the carbon parts. The factory also assembled all components without carbon build-up... Read more
