Then I found the Diamondback Clarity 1. It sounded like the components were good and I liked the idea of a women's sized bike. My previous bike was really too big and too heavy for me.
I am pleased with the Clarity !. The fit is perfect - I'm 5 ft 8 inches and ordered the medium 17 inch model. I think it is very stylish and the women's gel seat is very comfortable. It shifts smoothly. I ride about 40 miles a week on mostly flat surfaces, so I don't need a really expensive bike.
My only complaint is that the bike arrived with the front wheel noticeably wharped. I had to take it to a bike shop to get it trued. My husband and I assembled it without trouble except for the brakes. We are complete novices and had to call in my brother to get the front brakes assembled.
I purchased toe cages because I prefer them. You will also want a water bottle cage or two... Read more
